but if you were smart, you'd wisely decline. You'd cite something sweet like you had to get home to cook dinner for your family. But I'd know the truth. You would want to get as far away from the bugs and the stifling heat as possible. As much as you would want to talk, no amount of Chik-fil-A sweet tea would make time on this bench tolerable.

Zig-zagging across town 188/365

She drove us hither and yon looking for the perfect workout shorts and then to buy ingredients for a birthday cake. We gathered both (not from the same store) and then across town to borrow a mixer from a friend.

In less than a month, she'll no longer need me to supervise her driving.

I'm not sure how I feel about this yet.

Playing with light 186/365

 I've been slowing down trying to take time to really look at the light source and what it's doing with my object in focus. Some days the results are better than others. Today I wanted to do it at my own pace while I played with the photographic triangle (ISO, shutter speed, and aperature).

Something to think about 185/365

I watched a video showcasing the work of Michael "Nick" Nichols, editor-at-large at National Geographic. He was speaking on his tree project and the process he went through photographing the world's second largest redwood.

The entire video was very interesting but the thing that stuck with me was when he emphasized finding something you really care about and going crazy with it. He explained it's always about your passion for that something. When you find that one thing that interests you more than life itself, use it to develop your voice. It'll be what you have to scream to the world about.

What do I want to scream out to the world?

I feel very rambling-ish trying to write what is going on in my head. It made so much sense when he said it that I know I want to find that one thing that does it for me.

Little miss giggle pants 183/365

I can't remember what we were talking about but I jumped up, got my camera, and started spinning the dials. Both girls are pretty used to this and they usually throw on their "mama's-got-her-camera-out" look. You've all seen it, fake smile with dull eyes. After saying something ridiculous, she started giggling and this was my favorite of the evening.
