Momentary drift into childhood inventiveness 120/365

Tree ornamentation makes my imagination run wild. As I stood there staring at the eyes, a slight breeze blowing through the branches making the leaves flap helped my mind see the talking trees in The Wizard of Oz. Helping to drive home the point that the tree was alive was the radio announcer's voice coming from a neighbor's house reminding listeners of an upcoming fair.

Not until another sound caught my attention did I snap back to reality and wonder how long I'd been standing there. I smiled and recalled the many hours spent daydreaming. How I wish I still had that incredible skill.

Bricks and steps 119/365

While walking around the Ga Tech campus, I spied the contrasting lines of this wharehouse and couldn't pull my eyes away. I don't know which I enjoyed more, the lines going every which way or the color of the bricks. Boy, how I love that color brick with the whitish mortar.

While watching the kids swim, I realized somewhere deep in my being that I'm really going to miss traveling to swim meets. It has been such an integral part of our lives for so long. Truth be told, I WILL NOT miss early morning practice; however, the friendships I've developed with the parents and the fun I've had with my girl and her peeps will stay with me forever.

I start to get an itch when I have to stay in one place too long so traveling to pools hither and yon fulfill my need to 'go'. Maybe my I'll take my youngest on a few long road trips before I let her out of my house. {wink, wink} Then it'll be hubby and I with a long retirement ahead of us. I'm thinking a coast to coast adventure might be in order.

Prom Corsages 118/365

My daughter had her prom this weekend. Going single was the order of business for this group of girls, so one of them made wristlets to wear as a token of friendship. It was so sweet watching them confidently walk off toward dinner with each other.

I pray they keep that certainty as long as possible.

Mellow morning 117/365

This is what I see every day. The location may vary; however, my guy is always in the vicinity. If I move, he moves. Sitting at the kitchen table working on the computer , I looked down and there he was looking up at me.

He was a birthday gift for my husband many years ago but Jake is a Mama's boy through and through. I love him and find comfort knowing he will walk through hot coals with me.

When the registration paperwork came in, she dropped everything and filled them out. Her focus was on finishing them before the mailman came.
